with an all-new engine. Valve adjustment is “as required” and accomplished by replacing lifters. The returnless fuel system has a pressure regulator built into the fuel pump assembly in the tank. The housing for the center differential on all-wheel drive (AWD) models with an automatic transmission is part of the transaxle case, but it has its own oil supply.
Driveshaft service consists of joint lubrication and checking the nut/bolt torque.
All models come with antilock brakes (ABS), so there’s no proportioning valve in the brake system, but a service ulletin describes revised front brake pads and rear drums that were developed to address noise problems. Other ulletins were issued to address malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illumination with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P1349 (camshaft timing actuator sprocket) and DTC P0420 and P0430 (catalyst efficiency monitors in the powertrain control module [PCM]).
