Alot of members have fled to immigrationvoice with a hope to get their GC very quickly. Today the organization have received a final blow in its coffin when the House Judiciary Committee did'nt even look at HR5882.
Members are always been targeted for contributions for lobbyists, free lunch etc. and yet nothing concrete have been acheived by IV. I have never seen this website(immigrationportal) ask members for a single dollar yet have been just as helpful or even more helpful than IV and also this website is flame free you can express your self without fear. At IV to disagree you are a moron..(GIVING RED DOTS, ACTING LIKE A GROUP OF KINDERGARDEN KIDS, NO WONDER THE HORSE BILL WAS MARKUP AND HR5882 ISN'T)
I think its time for the chicken to come back to roost, the grass is not always greener on the other side. Save your money in this time of need and lets us make this site what it was in past before when some selfish persons seeking self gratification lure away members. The moderators of this site is to blame because they played a part in sucking up them, by deleting post that IV is not pleased of and giving aways members IP, thus in the process leaving this site to die a slow death.
I know IV hardcore members will attack this post and ask mod to delete this thread etc. They will be even more stupid to do so. (Its beter IV spend their time organizing a huge rally in Washington next year than telling their poor members to call senators and congress reps.)

If someone has experience with working on the software they use for this site, they should volunteer their services. Dont we have a single 'Skilled' immigrant who can help implement those suggestions. This would be a great non cash contribution.
So I am assuming we have a way to track who they are. Why don't we tag them - on the colored button on the top right, saying something like "xxx doesnot want to contribute but has posted 239 messages" and let people decide whether to read or ignore his message.

I think the idea is that we need to sell ourselves. I was the other day debating on www.cio.com and believe me, that was a tough exchange. Several US IT pros (mid management, engineering, etc) arguing that they are highly qualified and got laid off and cannot find a high paying job anymore. I had to sell myself and argue that our skills are needed, etc. I believe that we are still needed in this country and it is not all that easy to find "good" IT professionals. That's why we are here. However, I am very concious about the number of folks who Americans are willing to let in without hurting them.
"Demand" and "right" will work up to the point in which we don't irate Americans. America has been sympathetic to immigrants in good part thanks to the capacity that America has to accomodate us here. If an excessive number of immigrants get in and that alarm citizens, I can tell you this country will become as unsympathetic to immigrants as many European countries are.
LogicLife is doing a good thing by being so positive. Let's continue to sell our skills in a professional manner. Just be careful with the idea of "demanding" and "rights" though :)
So you guys are saying that because you are on a H1B you are working harder than others? Let me tell you that working hard does not guarantee your job. I have seen hard workers laid off left and right, be it US citizens, green card holders or H1Bs. In fact one of my GC friends said that it is a constant fear for him to be employed at all times, he was unemployed for 10 months after the dot com bust. That changed him completely, he said what will I do with my GC, can I feed my kids with a GC? I need a job. So it is everyone's perspective. I look at him and say at least you have a GC, he says at least you have a job. :)
I still think that GC is not a right. It is a privilege, as is a driving license. You have to pass the drivers test to get a license. Logiclife's message from centuries back about anyone being able to move to another country does not work in today's world. There were no visit visas needed to get to India or China for example in those years, but why is it a requirement to have a visa to visit India now? Things have changed.
BTW, I do think we should do what we can to improve the immigration process, but if nothing gets done its not the end of the world. We can "ask", "request" Congress to change laws. But surely you are not saying we "demand" for our rights to have a GC?

Came to USA on H1B, paid for the H1B fees(at that time didn't know it was illegal to do so)
however after coming here , Paid for my own ticket and landed here on start of january 2011.
Confirmed my arrival to the employer too. Since my leaving the home country there has not been any mail correspondence from the employer , though i have been writing many. Talked to him over the phone and he said he wasn't responsible for my arrival as he doesn't have any project for me. Waited to get another job as a H1B TXFR but stuck with trnsfrs issues due to non availablity of paystubs from him.
I never reported to work as he said dont come to office, dont have any paystubs, but have all my H1B papers , I97 and Employment offer from that consultant. I have decided to leave back to my home country but not before reporting this blood sucker to DOL.
I need to clarify a few things before i nail these blood suckers
1. How long before i board my flight back home , should i send the documents to DOL
2. I have the originals of H1B filing and LCA and I94, are they rquired in originals
or copy to send to DOL
3. What other documents should i send alongwith
4. Do you think my case will get weaker if iam not here ? As i am flying back to my home country.
5. I dont want these suckers to go scott free, so how to build my case here , can i ask the DOL to recover my wages for 4 months i wasnt getting paid.
I do not care if i get any wages or not from them , but i really wanna see the locks on the gates of this company. They shouldn't take H1B and its applicant for scapegoats.
Any advices are welcome to help me bring these guys to justice.

I understand where you are coming from. And I am sorry that some of my recent posts were irresponsible.
Frankly, after mumbai attack I have been a different person. I come to this forum to learn and provide any information I can provide. But it bothers me to see few jerks like mirage who don't have any clue of how things work, and they just start posting on the forum "remove country limits, remove country limits, remove country limits, remove country limits, remove country limits, remove country limits, remove country limits" 30 times a day, as if that will be sufficient to remove country limits. And in more ways this uneducated style bothers me. I will try to ignore it and go my way.
I am right now going to speed dial that other side of me, good and informative side.

Plus, to add to the complication, I've also confirmed ticket to meet them at Frankfurt on their way to US. My Euro vacation for a week would collapse and have to cancel everything.
I'm try to keep myself sane. There are much worse situations people are facing in this forum ( for example, a ninth pregnant lady getting laid off).
Just hoping (and praying) that this can be solved smoothly.

I did paid consultation to find answer to this question with murthy office. As per them, one can do transfer and extension of H1B even after using AP as long as the current I-797 is still valid.

Fraud is not correct word, it is because of lack of policies or loop holes in the current Immigration System. This can be found in any system, any country, any people. So, there is no need to talk on that. It is better to put our EB related retrogression problems to Congress and no use in discussing these. Same thing applies to US congress. They dont set their timetable of bills based on morality and merits. There are other factors.
Like it or not i am becoming a big fan of your posts. There is more logic to your life than ppl who question you and ur Core Team's Selfless efforts.
Lot of ppl do overlook that this is a grassroots organization with severe limitations. Those who sling mud at these ppl, If you cant appreciate what the core does, pls dont curse them. It is not for your or our Good.
My only worry is that these CORE members get discouraged with numerous flaming posts and drop out of this noble cause.
If that happens there will be nobody to work for us. :(
