Thanks for the replies everyone.
In response to some responses, i am not "overly concerned" I was just wondering what their status was.
If the older core members who have received their GCs are indeed enjoying the fruits of their hard work, God bless them and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. My intent was never to start a hot debate. God knows we have tons of drama on the forums daily!! ;). (Soon the April VB will be released and more drama)

The 600K+ number must include EB+FB
In the other FOIA thread, the letter from USCIS says that they cannot identify the country of chargeability until the application is adjudicated (may be pre-adjudicated).
May be these 125,000 are pre adjudicated cases and they might have lot more un processed cases where they cannot identify the application as Indian.
If my guess is correct, I am royally ....

SBI....
I used ICICI for 7 years....was always ok with the serivce ...did not have anything much to complain....
I did not know about SBI service being available....a few days back someone on IV forum told me to try SBI....I tried it out....
If ICICI charged me 50 paise per dollor SBI charged only 25 paise per dollor....(come one it is not free with anyone... -;)
I used SBI twice so far.....quite happy.....more over feel glad to use a nationalised bank -:)
compared to ICICI ...on a different note....my wife opened an NRI account with ICICI 5 years back and since then I have been trying to add myself as a joint acount holder....starngely ICICI's "excellent" customer service has not yet been able to do it....:confused:....I might as well give up....lol...

My lawyer sent me the fedex tracking sheet for the I-485 package sent to:

I did not see any PO Box on the Fedex tracking sheet. I am not sure if she put the PO Box on the shipping label or not??
Is it a big deal?? Will my application be accepted.

As far as I know from friends who have had similar case in the past, yours is not at all an uncommon situation. My belief is that use of PO Box on physical address helps to get documents re-directed to their correct department. Absence of same means that the personnel in charge have to "think" where to re-direct and nothing more than that. Again this is based on what I know from reliable friends.

Look at the previous post. Its a myth that NRIs are buying up all these high end properties.
Indian real estate market is fueled by the black money india. They are using NRIs as a facade. Investing in realestate legitimizes that money. Now they don't care how much rent they are getting. It makes no business sense at all. You and me cannot comepete with them.

I would keep it simple. H1 is a very solid backup in current market. I just don't want to close any options.

1 week after getting approved, I got the card in mail today.
All the work that I put in the last 2 month to get my file picked finally comes to an end here. It's good to see that people are proactively calling USCIS and following up on their cases.
Good luck to all EB2 folks who are current and waiting and to all the EB3 folks, hope you guys become current soon.

K , I see two views by two different types of folks.
View #1: This system sucks. Its not fair and just. America is a great country and land of immigrants and we chose to immigrate here. Lets work on this issue so that I myself and folks such as myself now and going forward do not have this problem. I will do what ever it takes. I personally feel that regardless of the outcome, it gives immense self satisfaction to commit to meaningful cause. Others might not feel so, but all of us believe that this problem needs to be solved and do what ever we can do.
View #2: Some people come resigned with the idea that they will be looked down. Now My question is what do you want to accomplish on IV if you do not want to work on the issue, If you do not want believe in the core principles of this organization. If you think that immigrants are treated like dirt and again if you believe in that and because you are an immigrant in this country, you should have been putting up with a treatment like dirt, do you have an iota of self esteem?? Seriously, If you really believe what you are saying why do you even want to be here now? or why do you even want to have a backup plan that will again make you a immigrant some where else?? $$$ over ride self esteem Huh? In the name of discussion you want to shape the opinion of people who do not talk much. Kudos to your agenda. You keep spitting out your rhetoric that immigrants are dirt but cannot make arguments that hold water for a single second.

As that is not the case and some of us has chosen to work with the US Congress, you consider us folks who dont have a life. Should I say that all of you those who bought homes and are having a life bought a home with 0% down and interest only loan so that you can save your taxes now and if your GC does not come through in 5 years, you will walk out with out any loss as you made hefty deductions and haven't paid single penny towards the mortgage and simply go to Timbuktu or Krakovia. I will not!. Just because you chose to buy a home and have a life does not mean that others dont. Every one lives their own lives. Those who dont buy a home live a life of their choice. Stop judging people. GC was not a risk or hindrance to you in buying a home but could be for Joe the Analyst. You might have deep pockets, Joe the analyst might not or have other commitments. Coupled with the lack of GC, his risk might be more than some one else.

CIR will be as controversial as ever. SKIL, if any is our best bet.
CIR seems to be a perpetual wait. Both parties will not close it.
They need big issues to bicker and promise the electorate
for the next election.
IRAQ and CIR will be those big tickets they will use as levers.
Sorry to sound negative, but it is just the way I see it.SKIL is our only option, IF AT ALL. CIR is just an illusion and who knows if our provisions will be in CIR even if it becomes a reality ??!!!

Their hands are tied because of a certain powerful focus group who won't allow ANY immigration reform unless it encompasses a comprehensive reform of a well-known controversial issue. Innocent people always get hurt in a war. And in this conflict its the legal immigrants, who have not broken any laws, are the ones who are suffering the most. Senator Obama, as the President of the United States, what will you do, so that the voice of the people can be heard and their problems solved instead of selected powerful groups bullying the lawmakers?"
Please vote. We need have people talking about our problems. We need to bring awareness about the difference between legal and illegal immigration. The likes of Dobbs often confuse the two.

My impression from the description of the original poster, , which could be incorrect, is that the first 5 cars were at a stand-still or barely moving (due to traffic jam or red light); the OP or the 6th car hit the line from the behind. It is not about tailgating.
I am sorry, I should have worded it properly. My message was for people tailgating too close. On a rainy day, one of my friends skidded and hit a vehicle in front of him when it stopped suddenly, but he was the one given the ticket.

While I was waiting for GC, I finished MBA last year. I have a Masters degree in Comp. Sc. also. It has been 4 1/2 years with no clear indication regarding the LC alone. Hats off to the screwed up concept of BEC. If my LC is not processed in time, I might leave next year.
I am thinking of doing a part time job on H-1B also. If that pans out well, atleast I will forget the pain of GC for a while.
