Not sure about the news, but based on my and our experiences with uscis,I have to say these two IO are EXCEPTIONALLY friendly. You can casually walk up to an IO after taking fingerprint? I thought you would be arrested if you go to any uscis office after taking the finger print. You will receive call from IO to give missing material? I suppose there is something called "RFE", and they are never afraid to use RFE, even for most minor and unnecessary reasons. Gee, if only half of the IO are good as this, there will not be any immigration problem anymore.

One of my friend received a call from IO Adjucating officer yesterday
and it seems adjucating officer asked him to hurry up to send his wife's medicals because
there were only 14K more visa numbers left as he did not include his wife's medicals (she was pregnant when they were filing I-485).
He received his approval notice but not his wife's due to the missing medicals
so relax guys - there could be atleast 13k visa numbers left.

I have a problem. in the given name, the middle name is entered first and the first name is entered after the middle name in the passport
(Given name: <middle name><first name>).
so while applying for the visa, they ask for first and middle names (as present in the passport)
Do I need to give the name as it is typed in the passport or can I give first name and then give middle name. Will there be any problem by rearranging the given name in the visa application?

No, I didn't go out of the country for stamping, coz i was under the impression that my visa was Change of Status from L-1 to H-1. Only now, i could find from the immigration lawyer that i don't have a valid I-94. My employer was napping too, all this while.

I believe there are more than one admin here, why dont one of you take couple of minutes atleast for the sake of putting a stop to this false accusations. Why dont you track our IP address for the past 1-2 days. You know we have been posting simultaneously, why do you please take a step to find out if these messages are coming from the same machine or even same vicinity. Please do this for our sake. Coz I dont want others to believe in this accusations.

But thats fine. If her 485 gets rejected (although the company not paying her is not really her fault), we'll just pack our bags :) Also, her I-140 is still pending.

Therefore you *are* authorized to stay here as of that day until a decision on the 485 is made (the unlawful stay clock stops ticking). If you get rejected on your H1 extension, you can still stay in the country and possibly work on the EAD (a derivative benefit of the 485). If you think your wife's 485 is airtight, and there's a problem later you can use the 245(k) provision since you were in unlawful stay for less than 180 days.

The billing address is for the florist! They dont give it to the receiver! Yeah if Emilio really wants he can track you down (subpoena the florist etc etc..). But how many people will he track down? I had the exact same question. If one responds to an RFE on his/her I-485 app, is there no place on the online status description where we can find the original receipt date?
Also, can one assume that his/her case has is pre-adjudicated, if there are no further requests from USCIS after an RFE reponse from the applicant?

I wonder where does people come up with such detailed info from. federal felony, lose your property , wow!!!! Even big corps hiring illegals getting away with just fines. Law Enforcement do not worry about the immigration status of the person. I know 2 incidents where my friends got in to car accidents with illegals . the other parties had no license, No id and No insurance. In both cases the cops weren't even bothered about their immigration status even though it was clear that they are illegals. cops gave ticket in some pseudo name they gave and they got away with no trace left.

You will see a more strong vocabulary from them which you could not get meaning in any dictionary. Of course, you can get out of this, but not by yourself, but after paying a lot to a lawyer.

It would be difficult to combine both the proposals. The combination would mean that everyone would enjoy the benefits of being allowed to continue living and working in the country with no annual limit. Which basically means no control of immigrants.
I am not in anyway opposing this. But we need to look at it based on how the decision makers are going to perceive it.
I feel what is being proposed by 'realizeit' is realistic and will not hamper the annual limits. It would be good if someone has contacts with the AILA and can persue the matter as a coalition effort.

I have no words for people in this forum, suggesting the person to just be quite and not report about that nanny who has harmed a child who is just 8 months old...it is very sad, sickening, and shocking that a majority of you guys are giving such bad suggestion.
Your first instinct as a parent is to protect your child.
If the child is harmed and you have the proof, man!!!! I would not be discussing that on this forum, but would go straight to the police station and give the complaint and protect my child and scores of other child who might be next if that nanny is not booked by the authorities.

I think with in this short time duration, i am going to proceed as such with my wife's name problem, and once the 485 has been filed, will go ahead and try to get a name change done for the passport from the indian embassy. I was told by one of the members on the forums, that you need the following things:-
1. Advertisement in a National Indian News Paper.
2. Advertisement in a USA Local News Paper.
3. An affidavit from you, but if you are married and have the original marriage certificate, then it should take care of the affidavit.
I think the costs to get it done is $70. If some one can suggest some other options that will be great.
