I don't see anything positive in the Visa Movement....
It will be good only for July 1st/2nd filers because I-485 receipt date holds priority over the actual Labor App priority date and for those with receipt dates of 485 in Aug or Sept I don't see any hope of clearance since there are millions in line ahead of them who are the July 2 filers. Same happened to ppl with Labor PD of 2006 but had a July 2 485 receipt date and were able to jump the line.
Also USCIS is not going to adjudicate any cases without throwing an RFE since more than 2 years have passed and by the time people respond to the RFE the October bulletin will be effective and it will be another huge retrogression as history has shown.
Pity ...for the sheer mess and for the so many legals waiting forever...

No, we want ALL pregnant women every where to come to US to give birth so we can get to pay for there care.
that is so much bullshit.... no one is asking caring for "ALL" pregnant women...... just take care of the once already here...... becoz before immigration status...... comes human dignity & respect for human life...... basic human rights for a pregnant woman & the new born child demands care.... not shackles...... regardless of immigration status...... just put u'r self in the shoe of that woman..... if u'r new born is treated like this..... what'll u do...... i'm sure in that case no one here will be reading u'r cheap comments.....

We might have a reporter who wants to write an article but is looking for an EB2 from the state of Texas. Currently we do not have anyone that fits the criteria. We would lose this chance which anyways are not easy to come by.

Hmm..I take back my words..maybe it is notice date as exact term per USCIS is "receipt notice date".
Or in typical USCIS fashion..whatever they think best :D
Even I was wondering same thing- Notice Date or Received Date. USCIS website says Received date is taken into account while looking at service centers processing times.
Here is exact line-
"IMPORTANT: If your receipt notice date is earlier then the processing date shown, we suggest you call our USCIS Customer Service Office at 1-800-375-5283 for assistance."
Of course, I personally wish that Notice Date takes precedence as it is not our fault that one file just kept on sitting and in saga of moving dates and PD, each day makes a difference.

To all IV non participating members (DC event),
The phenomenal experience of actually doing something positive to solve our problems is priceless. Every member that came to DC from all across America were dedicated and focused - many volunteered to help the IV Core (and in spite of doing many things ahead of time, there was much more things that needed attention!!).
On Monday and Tuesday, while I manned the phones, it was heartwarming to get calls from members who were in the Hill, calling and asking for more meetings - If they finished their meetings and had time before the next meeting, they called in to say - "is there a group we can join - so that we can be in a larger group?" or while they walked in the hallways, they would spot their congressman/congresswoman's office - and call in to ask if they could go in and just introduce themselves and ask for an audience. Mind you, this is not an easy task nor did they get to talk to staffers - but I am just acknowledging the great enthusiasm that was vibrating with our members - they realized the gravity of the situation, the opportunity that was within their grasp and wanted to make the best use of it. Hats off to you guys!!
IV realizes that our strength lies within our members and their dedication - both in terms of participation and funding. And if there is one thing that almost every single participant took home from the event is that - we still have a long way to go and we need far more support and participation.
Please contact me and I will put you in touch with the leaders from your state. I cannot stress enough on how important being involved in this process is............ The July fiasco has led many of our members to get their EADs and has lulled them into false security. If your goal is just EAD, please continue with what you are doing but if your goal is to get green card or citizenship - NOW has to be your wake up call.

I need to know:
1. Where I can go to get it notarized?
2. Where on this form do I sign?
3. Do we need two witnesses as the form asks for two Names / Addresses?
4. What else I might be asked for when getting it notarized?

Ok, i had the same problem.
Surname: blank
Given Name: First Last.
But in all US documents had it correctly distinguished. Recently when i renewed my passport i got it fixed at NY. You DO NOT NEED a news paper ad for this kind of change. I went to NY Indian consulate personally to ask this question as no one was lifting the phone. The person over there gave me a special form to fill it out and get it notarized. I did all of that and they printed the name correctly. Another guy had same problem, he did not even filled out that form, but they corrected his name as well. I was surprised how lenient these guys are.
Me and the other guy were joking on the way back in train because they did it for him without the special application, its like they don't care what name you have, " do you want Tom Cruise, i will write Tom Cruise - no problem at all, or even better, we will give you passports with empty name column, you fill it up with whatever you want :) "
Don't worry guys, this change is easy and this does not impact 485 as well, as long as you have always reported your correct name in your other USCIS documents. THEY KNOW that internationals have their names goofed up in their passports. Its not new for them.

Yes, but it is not the receipt generation, it is the actual review of the case as per advertised processing dates. if your case is in the Processing Date window (based on your online receive date), then most likely your case is preadjudicated, and now is waiting for the visa in sequence of PD. Best of luck.

Tell me. Why should someone hire a illegal nanny in the first place? Knowing the consequences, why should they come on this forum and ask for support?
I strongly recommend thunderbolt to post the video on youtube and share it with all of us. He can share the link on sulekha also.

Well - I agree. What you say is true. In the past - IV leadership came up with campaigns and with plan and then the heat picked up and members started contributing and working hard and thats how all these campaigns are a success to some extent.
Now when new members are trying to come up with something - I personally feel that IV leadership must either endorse and support and guide or if such new campaigns that are not coming directly from IV core may not be advisable because they may not be the best approach - I think IV core can communicate the concern and intent to not ssupport new campaigns.
If there is no response - it becomes difficult for people to do anything because most people spring into action ONLY when IV core endorses the effort otherwise members will start campaigns - get no support or very little support and the campaigns will just go wasted.
On another note - it is always the best to join State chapters and talk to chapter leads and also mobilize people in state chaapter level - itis not easy but works in long run

I wrote a letter to the university chancellor where I graduated from and urged him to use his power to influence lawmakers to pass STEM -or similar -bills or face the consequences in the form of dwindling enrollment of brilliant students. That the dates did not jump too much in September for EB2-I is probably good news as it may not retrogress in October or in the following months. Even if it did retrogress in december or january, I don't believe it will go back beyond mid 2004.
